Hyatt Place Zurich Airport The Circle

JOI-Design fused inspirations from nature and Swiss culture to create Hyatt Place Zurich Airport in The Circle, a massive landmark connecting the airport, a convention centre, a transportation hub, a park, shops, restaurants, offices and two hotels. Clever design touches abound in the brand’s debut in Switzerland, for example a wall lined with colourful stripes of Swiss-made Caran d'Ache pens; the Dada Lounge honouring its namesake art and literary movement with avant garde creative works; oversized garden tools hung as sculpture above restaurant banquettes; guest bathroom tiles reminiscent of the Swiss flag; and gigantic ‘dandelion’-shaped lights on the terrace that emphasise the hotel’s closeness to nature.
