Biography
Sabrina shapes the creative direction of JOI-Design with a strong sense for atmosphere, identity and contemporary hospitality. As Creative Director and Partner, she brings together interior architecture, branding and storytelling to create spaces with cohesive identities and lasting emotional resonance. Her work is guided by a human-centred approach, creating comfortable, restorative environments that enhance wellbeing, encourage communication and build a sense of community.
She graduated in 2004 with a degree in interior architecture from the University of Applied Sciences in Rosenheim and gained early professional experience with Hadi Teherani at BRT Architekten in Hamburg, Matteo Thun & Partners in Milan and GMP Architekten in Hamburg before joining JOI-Design in 2008. Since then, she has played a key role in developing the studio’s creative identity across hospitality, office design and brand-led interior projects.
Since 2024, she has been leading JOI-Design together with Barbara and Thomas, guiding the studio’s next generation with creative vision, strategic clarity and a deep understanding of how spaces become memorable experiences.
Thomas Scholz

Biography
Thomas brings together design understanding, entrepreneurial thinking and financial responsibility at JOI-Design.
After completing his apprenticeship as a carpenter, he studied interior architecture at HAWK University of Applied Sciences in Hildesheim, where he graduated in 2004. He joined JOI-Design the same year and became a Project Manager shortly afterwards.
With his background in craftsmanship, design and project management, Thomas has a deep understanding of the creative and economic realities behind successful interior architecture. Since receiving procuration in 2015, he has been overseeing the company’s financial matters in a holistic way. He became a Partner and shareholder of JOI-Design in 2018.
Since 2024, he has been leading JOI-Design together with Sabrina and Barbara, contributing financial foresight, operational reliability and a strong sense of responsibility for the studio’s long-term development.

Biography
Peter Joehnk is the co-founder of JOI-Design, which he established and shaped together with his wife Corinna Kretschmar-Joehnk. With over forty years of experience, the experienced interior architect and building biologist has made a significant contribution to shaping contemporary hospitality design, developing distinctive concepts for hotels, restaurants, serviced apartments and cruise ships.
Today, he supports JOI-Design as a Senior Advisor, contributing his expertise to the continued development of the studio.
