Frankfurt Marriott Hotel Messe - Products curated by JOI-Design
About the project: A business hotel with heart. In the middle of the metropolis, between Frankfurt’s fairground and stock exchange, is this state-of-the-art hotel whose guest rooms reflect local heritage and Hessian culture. For example, behind the beds are zoomed-in graphics reminiscent of traditional pot-bellied stoneware jugs (called Bembel) used for serving the region’s famous cider. The surrounding design feels like a private apartment with diamond-shaped details inspired by the different modern glass facades found in the neighborhood’s architecture.

Pendant lamp ,Ice Crystal', Frandsen (Denmark)
The soft forms of the Bembel-inspired graphic create the cosy warmth and security guests want in a sleeping environment, while the crystalline effect of the asymmetrically suspended pendant lamp next to the bed introduces a light freshness.
Coffee tables ,NONO' Menu (Denmark)
With filigree details around its oval frame and a shiny radiant surface, this beautiful coffee table won us over and fits perfectly into the elegant, home-like atmosphere.

Pendant lights (Customized), Frandsen (Denmark)
These pendant luminaires accentuate the spot where the minibar stands. Custom-designed to look like a tea trolley, it reinforces the impression of living in a private apartment. The dancing rhythm of the lights indicates something special and brings in a relaxed casual character.
Bench ,Acanto 14', B & B Italia (Italy)
This shapely bench is an elegant all-rounder: it serves as a bag holder, a small luggage rack or a place to put on your shoes. Not only is it practical, it also invites gives those arriving in a foreign city an eye-catching sense of home.

Pouf seating ,Five Pouf’, Muuto (Denmark)
Introducing a splash of colour, the pouf was our favourite because it’s so different. Looking more like a large ball of wool or an oversized package, the deliberately playful accent takes away the austerity of the living room ensemble.
Side table ,Polytable’ Jan Kurtz (Germany)
This side table is in dialogue with the coffee tables, yet also expresses something unique because it doesn't actually look like a side table at all, but rather more like a basket or an étagère. We really liked this bit of cleverness, so it became our first choice for the design!

Wall tiles ,CLK Silver‘ Marca Corona (Italy)
Here's another nice detail, this one found in the bathrooms since the arc of suspense should not fade away in this space, nor should the design story abruptly stop: the fine diamond pattern again refers to the different structures of the glass facades characteristic of the hotel’s neighbourhood in downtown Frankfurt.
