About the project: located directly on the inner fjord of Kiel, Germany and close to its main train station, theme and all hotel has 164 guest rooms that are strong in character and close to nature. Created to inspire citydwellers and travellers, the interior design features casual maritime details that emphasise the property’s proximity to the water and Kiel’s harbour-asynergy that invites you to linger and unwind without appearing kitschy.

The inclusion of art in our projects is important to us. And it’s all the better when the works are interactive and encourage hotel guests to be imaginative and help with their designs. The joy of co-creation can be experienced in me and all hotels because Candy Chang’s art can also be found there.

Hansa, 'HANSACLIFF' faucet (G)

The glistening reflections of light on water inspired the bathroom sinks. Their bespoke colourway, combined with their glossy surface, suggests clear water and natural connections.
Frandsen Project, customised 'Ball with Handle' pendant light (DK)
Sometimes a tailor-made solution is needed. Together with Frandsen Project, we designed a bedside version of this pendant lamp. Resembling an underwater searchlight, it fits perfectly with the maritime character of the hotel.
