Olympus Campus Hamburg, Part 3 - Products curated by JOI-Design
About the project: This new Hamburg building constructed for Olympus' European headquarters features innovative spaces that, in addition to more conventional areas, offer employees a range of options come together and collaborate with like-minded people in progressive, ‘next generation’ work environments. They’re also places to just take a little break or use for brainstorming think-tanks. These special lounge areas were developed by us in a co-design process with a group of colleagues from Olympus – teamwork at its best! Here we show you the 'Nature' area:
Hanging chair 'Globo Chair', Amazonas (Germany)
Here’s a perfect spot to unwind for a moment and clear your head to come up with new thoughts. We were impressed by its beautiful circular shape and natural wooden frame.
Pendant lamp 'Babylo', Biophilic Design (Great Britain)
This is not just a luminaire – this illuminated art piece enriches the room with its clear appearance and, at the same time, its direct reference to natural beauty: a perfect player in our 'Nature' area!
Bar stool 'Soft Edge 82 High', Hay (Netherlands)
These barstools impress with their simplicity: subtly restrained, yet also important to the interaction between the room’s other pieces of furniture. With flattering rounded profiles, they feel velvety to the touch – and that's what won us over.
Seat pouf 'Béla Pebble L', myfelt (Germany)
Scattered amongst other seating options, these poufs fit perfectly with our ‘Nature’ concept because their shape and colour are reminiscent of rounded pebbles. Covered in soft felt, they also create pleasant acoustics!
Moss Wall 'Pixel', Nordgröna (Sweden)
In our search to celebrate the nature’s abundant greenery, we found this beautiful moss wall: its individual elements – as the name suggests – adjoin as if pixels, so this mosaic could continue indefinitely. In addition, individual components can also be easily replaced if necessary. It was the perfect choice for us.
Padded rug with leaf motif, JAB Anstoetz (Germany)
Individual seating areas needed their own subtle demarcation – at least in terms of feeling – to create the sense being a little protected within the open space. Rounded carpet islands create an illusion of security and are also acoustically effective – plus their leaf patterns are reminiscent of a walk through the forest!
Chair '027', May objekt + design (England)
These light, natural and uncomplicated chairs in the more sheltered work area are framed by birch tree trunks. They’re a bit like kitchen seating, because that’s where people often get together for casual chats!
