In the heart of Dortmund’s harbour district, a unique place has taken shape: the Lensing Media Port stands for a new era of work – open, connected, and firmly rooted in the local context. Housed within a former warehouse, an inspiring digital hub has emerged, where architecture, corporate culture and a spirit of innovation come together.

In close collaboration with SHA Architekten, JOI-Design has created a space that doesn’t merely reflect change – it actively shapes it. Open spatial structures encourage communication and collaboration, while carefully designed retreats offer room for focus and creativity.

The Media Port unites all areas of the Lensing Media Group under one roof – and opens that roof to the city: with a restaurant and harbour terrace, a conference centre that invites dialogue with the neighbourhood, and a club room that serves as a stage for discussions and cultural exchange. A vibrant part of the city where work and life blend seamlessly.

The design continues the story of the site: raw concrete ceilings, historical references, warm timber surfaces and soft textile accents create an atmosphere that feels both grounded and welcoming. JOI-Design has translated Lensing Media’s brand identity into a tangible experience, a space that inspires, connects and fosters a strong sense of belonging.
