Moxy Berlin

The Moxy Berlin is authentic and cosy whilst at the same time industrial and hip. From the moment you enter the lobby the guest tour of discovery begins, themed around Berlin’s heraldic animal – the `Berlin Bär´ (bear) which is strongly integrated in the entire concept. Exposed concrete surfaces reveal the history of the building, and accessories such as books which give an insight into Berlin’s history and offer sightseeing tips. Different zones are equipped with a mix of lounge and other seating furniture, alongside street art on the walls and several trendy accessories. This forms the perfect basis for a great working atmosphere, casual business meeting or a game of chess with a buddy after a busy working day.

What was the basic idea behind the project?

Berlin’s eclectic, creative and affordable scene inspired our vision for the MOXY Berlin Humboldthain Park hotel. The JOI-Design team was appointed with the task of designing innovative interiors,  offering guests a unique and intriguing local experience while making them feel safe and comfortable.

What did you particularly like about the concept of JOI-Design?

The JOI-Design team has created a hotel that captures the city’s unique and unpredictable soul. They accomplished a delicate balancing act between an energetic lobby and rooms that provide a quiet pause among the city bustle.
