The Steigenberger Hotel Hamburg is located on Fleetinsel, the strip of land between the harbour and the Alster canal that is anything but a desert island. This special destination is a place for relaxation and home to event spaces, galleries and one of Hamburg’s most festive Christmas markets. The luxury hotel has been an important cultural asset for the Hanseatic city since the 1990s, welcoming guests as a calming harbour within the bustling city. This retreat is also a culinary pearl – in fact, ‘the pearl’, Hamburg’s nickname, inspired the interior design concept for its public areas.
Tribute to the Treasures of the Sea - Gastronomy
The charm of the elegant interiors immediately puts guests at ease as soon as they enter the traditional brick building. The character of the sea’s jewel comes to life as vibrant, friendly colour worlds meet shimmering "pearly" elements.
The interiors of the Restaurant am Fleet, located just above sea level, take this design inspiration further with a modern sophistication that blurs the boundaries between the interiors and the watery surrounds. Organic shapes are reminiscent of the nacre rings of the pearl and the ripples of the passing waves, with glints of light that bounce off the water and into the dining room. A subtle colour palette creates a cosy ambience that encourages guests to relax and recharge their batteries before the next day’s adventures – beginning with the breakfast buffet – in the Hanseatic city.
Urban, Edgy – Grill!
The Stadthaus Restaurant & Bar is not afraid to be different by breaking away from the light contemporary feel of the rest of the building. Urban and sociable, it is enveloped by the atmosphere of the Fleetinsel. The hotspot sets the scene for entertainment with friends around the open grill. A daring mix of fabrics and finishes thoroughly rejuvenates the traditional steakhouse concept.
