The White Lady – New Life in a Historic Landmark
Lively, Gronau
Where spinning machines once whirred, a place full of life is now emerging. The White Lady, a striking industrial landmark from 1910, is returning with a renewed spirit. After decades on the verge of being forgotten, its potential was rediscovered by Achim Leßmann and Michael Maas – driven by passion, vision and a sense for the extraordinary.
Set in green surroundings yet just a stone’s throw from the town center, a 17,000 square meter neighborhood is taking shape that offers far more than just living space. It connects history with the future and individuality with community. At its heart lies Lively, which opened at the end of 2024 – a concept designed to inspire.
Lively stands for modern, accessible living with soul. It features 117 bright apartments, stylish guest suites, private retreats and open spaces that invite connection. With an integrated care facility, medical services, a daycare center and a variety of local businesses, the neighborhood becomes a vibrant place for all generations.
"We create spaces that offer more than just function. They move people, bring them together and create new joy in life," says Christina Kainz, co founder of Lively.
And that is exactly what happens here – where young and old come together, learn from one another and grow side by side. Lively is more than a residential project. It is a place where life can truly be felt. Together. Independent. Joyful.
