“Awarded” is no self-praise

JOI-Design’s Excellence Confirmed at the “Deutschen Innenarchitektur Preis”

Delighted yet also a bit speechless, Corinna Kretschmar-Joehnk, co-managing director of JOI-Design, was honoured to accept the “Deutschen Innenarchitektur Preis” (DIAP) for the Moxy Frankfurt during the “Deutschen Architektentag” in Berlin on 27 September 2019.

Germany’s most prestigious interior design award, the DIAP prize is only granted every four years by the Bund Deutscher Innenarchitekten (BDIA) to recognise the country’ best concepts. Only interior designers are eligible to win.

BDIA’s first-rate jury was impressed by JOI-Design’s concept that brings the energetic life of the location in the heart of Frankfurt into the hotel. Regional artists interpreted the Bull and Bear symbols of the nearby stock exchange, while the building’s history as the editorial offices of newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau is reflected in witty references to media and typography.

“The award-winning work shows the essential contributions made by interior designers through quality planning and design,” emphasizes Denise Junker, bdia.

All award-winning interior designers have been published alongside their projects in the book Deutsche Innenarchitektur Preis 2019, available now from Callwey Verlag.

The BDIA is the only interior design association in Germany and is the largest in Europe. For more than 60 years, it has promoted and unified the professional practice of interior design.
